ABIGAIL HARRISON

Ceramics

Themes in the work of Abigail Harrison focus on the human condition and the space which a person occupies.

Emanation and absorption of energy is
related to the interaction between a body and the space it exists in.

Space, both physical and metaphysical, is an integral component of the
energy and transformation of a being. This relates to
the body and psychological state; while living from moment to moment, day to day, and year to year.
Identification of time is inseparable from physical location in space.

Materials that reflect or absorb light, density of space
within a composition, and inversion of these elements are all a part of the
psychological and physical response of the human being to a space
or object, and are ongoing areas of study.

Functional vessels, abstract sculpture, paintings and wearable objects exploring these ideas
are a vital part of her work.
